Back to Okinawa...
As we're getting ready to move
back to the States, we took one last trip to Okinawa to visit family
and friends. We stayed at Kaoru's parents house, which was
quite empty with both her sister and father spending time in the
hospital. Her dad is recuperating from shoulder surgery and
will be in rehabilitation for at least another month and her sister
is just getting over her illness. But all are well and her dad
was able to get a one-night "release" to come home and hold a going
away party for us. It was pretty nice to see everyone in one
place...and Kaoru's mom made a huge pot of my favorite soup!
But just as we were getting
acclimated, it was suddenly time to go. We had planned to do a
lot of "touristy" things, but the weather didn't cooperate. We
arrived just after rainy season began and only had two days of
sunshine the entire trip. We took the kids to the beach on
Hama Higa Island one day, and have a few photos of Luna and Hina
swimming there. Hina just LOVES the beach and we couldn't get
her out of the water when it was finally time to go!

tours" and got some photos around the island, which you'll find in
