We recently took a trip down
to Nagasaki Peace Park, which was built in memory of the bomb
dropped on the city during WWII. It is much more than a simple
monument, rather a museum -- it outlines the history of the nuclear
bomb and has a rather significant collection of artifacts from the
aftermath.
Unfortunately, many of the
displays were rather graphic which was eye-opening, depressing and
disturbing all at the same time. It also kind of ruined the
experience for the kids. They don't allow photos to be taken
inside the museum, but I think that I may have accidentally pressed
the shutter release a couple times while I was walking around...
...and some of those shots,
I've shared here.
