My trip to Yokosuka was relatively uneventful, as the training turned out to be much easier and shorter than expected.  So once class was over I hopped onto the train to Kamakura, a popular tourist spot south of Tokyo rich with temples, shrines and historical monuments.  Just about an hour south of Tokyo, it also has some incredible beaches.

Since I had but a few hours to spend there, I was only able to visit two of the shrines.  These are some of the photos I took at Engaku-Ji (the Sutra of Perfect Enlightenment) Shrine, built in part to honor the Japanese and Mongolian soldiers who died as the result of two wars between these nations about 700 years ago.  It is the second of Kamakura's five great Zen temples.
