With everything that's been
happening for the last two weeks, I've only now found the time to
prepare an update for the website. Following a busy week of
work after the long 4th of July weekend, I was in training all of
last week. But it gets better from here - Monday I'm off to
Tokyo for three days, then home Thursday and back on a plane Friday
headed for Seattle.
I just extended to stay
here in Sasebo for two more years, so the government is giving me
and my family free tickets to fly back "home" (my last stateside
residence), which just happens to be Seattle.
Vacation, in the
traditional sense, is supposed to be a time to relax, kick back and
be lazy, but somehow my vacations never turn out that way - as
evidenced by the fact that I took two weeks off in June but spent
the entire time doing yard work.
Well, this "vacation" to
Seattle will be no different. As typical, I've planned the
maximum possible number of activities, including local festivals,
travel around the Olympic peninsula, and driving up to Vancouver,
Canada and maybe even down to Oregon. I can't help it, it's in
my blood - whether at work or play, I just can't force myself
to lay back and relax.
I will try, but if I'm not
able to squeeze it in then you may not see any updates here for the
next few weeks. Until my next, just enjoy this collection of
miscellaneous photos taken around the island of Kyushu.
